Avanta works for you to effectively integrate security data:
| 1. |
Avanta truly integrates by pulling data from closed systems
(video, intrusion, access control, etc.) hardware made by one or many manufacturers. |
| 2. |
The data is captured by our small network device appliance
, a sealed system without monitors, mice or keyboards. |
|
|
a. |
Avanta's software drivers standardize the incident data |
|
|
b. |
The captured data is stored on the front-end appliance |
|
|
c. |
ASP solutions can reduce IT costs up to 65% according to the ASP Consortium (Comdex 2000) |
| 3. |
Authorized users quickly resolve the incident from any computer with a browser connected to the Internet. |
The Vigilos Vault
A central data repository, the Vigilos Vault, provides archival of event information using industry-leader Oracle®
database technology and tested information protection standards. Vigilos performs database management and pays all associated license fees.
No more complete reliance on tapes to find that one frame of video information. Critical end-user security data stored in our secure auxiliary location, which you easily retrieve, improves investigation efficiency. The data you specify as important is available;
requests for easy-to-read reports can be made quickly and give you comprehensive and up-to-date views of an entire organization, region or single location.
Disaster Recovery
A recovery plan must permit fast and reliable reconstruction of systems and data. Our engineers designed the Vigilos Vault to help your crisis management team effectively rebuild business rules and other security information
needed by the users. It provides an additional layer of security for your locally stored data.
Planning for Avanta
There is no confusion about who is configuring your security system. Vigilos works directly with an end user's dealer who performs most planning and setup of Avanta for you. The dealer will need some preparation
work from the end user's organization:
 |
Adequate power and ventilation for the device and front-end appliances |
 |
An analog telephone line to the front-end appliance |
 |
Broadband Internet access (DSL) |
 |
Access to the facility for dealer and engineering support personnel |
 |
Firewall changes required for SSH, HTTP and remote access |
After planning and preparing the end user's site(s) for Avanta setup, the end user can work with the dealer to
take inventory, install hardware and set up the system.
Taking Inventory
Usually the dealer helps take inventory of the end user's site(s). This entails listing all existing security-related
systems and recording them on a floor plan, thus creating an architecture design. The dealer may recommend changes to the current environment
that will help streamline the security environment into one powerful system.
Installing Hardware
After taking inventory and selecting the appliance locations, the security hardware is installed. A Vigilos-Certified
Installation Professional (installation professional) connects power and communications cables to the appliances, and then thoroughly tests them.
Setting Up and Configuring Software
The installation professional and the end user's security team configure the software using Avanta's setup screens.
Each security device's information is entered into the system, thus creating the rules and notification processes. After setup, authorized
users can quickly change most entered information, as needed, from any location with an Internet connection. The initial configuration takes just a few hours, but our team works with you until the job is complete.
