FBI & Vigilos
In April 2005 Vigilos completed the installation of its software
at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Quantico, Virginia.
A commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software deployment,
the FBI selected Vigilos for its ease of integration with
existing
security devices in use at Quantico and field offices around
the US.
"
We're pleased that Vigilos was able to complete its full integration
of Hirsch access control in time for this installation," said
Mike Friedel, who manages security technology for the FBI. "Vigilos
had already completed the integration of our Bosch intrusion
detection panels, and the added ability to monitor and program
our Hirsch panels remotely will greatly increase our security
while keeping our administration costs low. Vigilos delivered
that functionality on time, and exactly to our specifications."
The
FBI has stated its intent to deploy the Vigilosplatform
broadly in its field locations across the nation, and throughout
Quantico. Vigilos and the FBI are discussing plans for future
deployments and additional best-of-breed technology integration
to the Vigilos ESM software to continue to increase productivity
and overall security.
"
We are excited to have partnered with Vigilos to integrate the
Hirsch hardware with the Vigilos software," said Rob Zivney,
VP Marketing for Hirsch Electronics. "Both companies' products
are COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf), and the combination of the
two sets a new standard for enterprise access control and integrated
security management. Vigilos met our high quality, training,
and support standards, and we are pleased with their achievement
under a tight schedule."
The Vigilos ESM deployment will
allow efficient management of physical security across multiple
locations for the FBI while
keeping staffing costs to a minimum. Customers, like the FBI,
have declared their satisfaction with results including doubling
output with the same staff, effectively managing security for
hundreds of sites, enabling collaboration across and outside
the organization, and overall improvements in security effectiveness. |
