ABM SECURITY SERVICES TO OFFER VIGILOS BRIGHTSITE™ REMOTE SECURITY SYSTEM
ABM-Vigilos relationship represents emerging technology trend in contract guard security industry
SEATTLE – April 23, 2007 – ABM Security Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of ABM Industries, Incorporated, (NYSE:ABM) has teamed with Vigilos, Inc., a leading provider of patented, remote security guard technology, to offer the Vigilos BrightSite remote Internet Protocol (IP)-based security technology to current and future ABM customers for commercial, industrial, retail and institutional facilities, including office building Real Estate and Investment Trusts (REIT).
“We are pleased that ABM is the first-to-market with a guard-based technology solution that has the potential to transform the security guard industry by helping our customers optimize their security spending, while providing a higher level of security service,” said ABM Security Services President Larry Smith. “This newly-forged agreement with Vigilos enables ABM to reduce guard turn-over, attract more experienced long-term officers with competitive wages and provide enhanced levels of customer service,” he added.
“The ABM-Vigilos relationship represents a new trend in the $15 billion domestic security guard industry to rationalize security costs with a sophisticated, yet easy to implement combination of technology and human guard labor,” said Vigilos Vice President Kevin McDonald. "This trend was started and validated in the military, and it is now moving toward the private sector, as evidenced by our association with ABM Security Services,” he added.
Vigilos patented BrightSite technology combines hosted enterprise class integrated security software with tailored installation, training and support services. BrightSite adds a layer of networking and intelligence to existing security equipment, automating a significant number of manual guard tasks. It is available to customers in North America.
